Pick-up from the hotel and departure to Subotica. Driving the territory of the Vojvodina, the largest Serbian graveyard, created in the area of the former Pannonian Sea. Panoramic and walking sightseeing tour of Subotica: Freedom Square, surrounded by parks and foundations, City Hall, the biggest and the most beautiful Vojvodina buildings and a typical example of Hungarian Secession, National Theater City Library, Serbian Orthodox Church of Holy Ascension, Subotica’s Synagogue, City Museum, Franciscan Monastery and Church and Saint Teresa of Avila Cathedral.
Driving to lake Palić, that gave a name to the whole region. In the past, in this area there was a Pannonian Sea. Wine growing tradition here is more than 2 millennia, sandy terrain (this is why wines produced here are called ’’sand wines“) and mild climate create conditions for growing Cabenet Franc, Merlot, Pinot noir, Cabernet, Italian riesling, Pino blanc, Hungarian Ezerjo. It is said that Palic was one of the four most visited fashionable resorts in time of the Habsburg Empire, together with Opatija, St. Moritz and Karlovy Vary. Numerous villas, summer houses and the Large Park, built in 1840, date from this period. The favorite place for nature lovers is Palic Lake, with a 17 km long pedestrian and bike trail.
Next stop will be one of the most famous region’s wineries ’’Zvonko Bogdan“. Enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the vineyard as well as wine tasting.
