Golubac Fortress is a medieval fortress and a monument of great importance, located in the Đerdap National Park, on the right bank of the Danube, at the entrance to the Đerdap Gorge. It was built on high cliffs, on the part of the Danube where it is the widest in its entire course, about 6 km. For centuries, the fortress was the guardian and controlled the entire land and water route, which connected the east and the west. The Fortress was completely renovated and opened in 2019. During the tour, we will visit the fort and hear the story of its creation, as well as legends about the origin of its name.

Next stop will be Tumane Monastery from the 16th century. According to tradition, the monastery was built by Miloš Obilić, the Serbian national hero, before going into battle. Within the monastery complex there is a church dedicated to Archangel Gavril, religious buildings, a small restaurant on the bank of the river Tumana, a mini zoo. Thanks to religious tourism, it became the most visited monastery in Serbia.
